oui oui frame bag

I love bike bags. I love bags dedicated to a specific purpose, and nothing has more specific purpose than a bag custom-fit to a bike's geometry. I also love bags that serve a specific, silly purpose, like holding itemlabel dot com creatures.

I made this bag following a process roughly like this article from bikepacking.com. Create a template by tracing the inside of your bike frame (I left room for my water bottle). Trace that out onto your chosen fabric with seam allowance. Cut out a border piece roughly 2.25" wide (and long enough to make it all the way round the bag). Dress that up and sew it together and finish the seams.

I made this out of clear vinyl so that you can see everything inside :3 I did a tape finish on the seams which is the only reasonable way to finish vinyl, plus it looks so legit. I added a really janky zipper to the side so I could fill it, and if I do this over again I'd definitely try to make that part look nicer. I'd also add some stiffener to the edge to give it a bit more structure.

Check out some of the cool pictures I took of the process and the results. It looks so good filled with oui ouis and friends.
